Steven Avanzato-Driesner is a democracy educator and works as a senior detective inspector in the Central Office for Radicalisation Prevention at the Berlin State Office of Criminal Investigation. He is currently completing his dissertation at the University of Cologne, which focuses on media education and extremism research and deals with the topic of ‘Prevention work through digital maturity – does the ability to criticise media protect against extremist radicalisation?’.
